Sex Addiction Therapist

Specialist Jared Levine
MSW, LCSW

For 17 years I have worked with clients struggling with sex addiction and trauma

I’ve seen firsthand how destructive secretive sexual behavior can be, but also know how powerful recovery is. This work is so important to me that I became a Certified Sex Addiction therapist through the IITAP, the gold standard for research and training in this field.

Is something sex related making you overwhelmed by shame, despair, or isolation?

Has a partner discovered behaviors you’ve hidden?

Are you afraid of relationships, or are your job or schooling starting to be affected? Made attempts to stop your behavior that just won’t stick?

My therapy helps you reconnect, restoring trust, and rediscovering self-respect with real fulfillment.

  • Porn overuse

  • Excessive masturbation

  • Infidelity

  • Multiple sexual partners

  • Sexual obsession or fantasies

  • Risky sexual behavior

When these are getting in the way of how you want to live, focused sex addiction therapy helps

Men Come To Me For:

“The best time to start therapy is as soon as you’re thinking about it”

How Sex Addiction Therapy
With Me Works

I use evidence-based, skills-focused therapy to help you feel more empowered, confident, and in control, even when things feel uncertain.

This isn’t about “resisting harder.”

It’s about building the tools you need to handle whatever shows up.

  •  structured, evidence-based approach:

    1. Clarify how addiction has caused harm: its nature, consequences, and the secrecy around it.

    2. Explore your family of origin and its influence on your current sexual behaviors.

    3. Uncover underlying trauma to address the root cause.

    4. Learn practical strategies to understand sex addiction and prevent relapse.

  • for processing trauma and reducing its hold

  • to reshape unhelpful thought and behavior patterns

  • for building emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness

  • an action-based approach to explore and rehearse healthier ways of being

My Sex Addiction Therapy
Isn’t “Just Practice Willpower, You’ll Get There”

Sex addiction recovery takes more than willpower, it takes understanding, structure, and healing the pain underneath.

I won’t shame you, blame you, or hand you surface-level solutions. My goal is to help you make sense of what’s happening, why it keeps happening, and how you can truly move forward.

After partnering with me, clients report:

  • Insight into the root causes

  • Healing that isn’t surface-level

  • Healthier relationships

  • Alignment with their emotional needs

  • A shift toward fulfillment, not acting on impulses

  • Less shame and guilt

Jared Levine, LCSW

I'm a certified sex addiction therapist, trained through the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals, with extensive experience helping people confront compulsive sexual behaviors, porn use, and infidelity as well as their impact on relationships and self-worth.

I intimately understand feelings like loneliness, “not being good enough,” or undeserving of love are real pain points. But I’ve also witnessed healing: real people reconnecting, restoring trust, and rediscovering self-respect and fulfillment.

I’m a big fan of the NY Giants and Yankees, and I try to stay active outside of therapy, whether that’s getting outside, working out, or just taking some time to reset. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and for the first time in my life, I have a puppy. Overall, I try to keep life balanced and grounded.

Get Started in 4 Steps

  • Reach out using the contact form. Share a bit about what’s bringing you to therapy- no need to overthink it. I’ll get back to you with next steps.

  • We’ll start with a free call. This is a chance for both of you to ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and see if we’re a good fit. No pressure, just conversation.

  • If we decide to work together, in our first full session, we’ll dive into what’s been feeling stuck or painful. I’ll help you both slow things down, name what’s not working, and begin mapping a path forward.

  • We’ll work together weekly to build stronger communication, heal past wounds, and create more connections. Every step is tailored to you.
